Fishing Report 2-24-11

2-24-11

It’s been a great week to be in East Texas. We had our last hard freeze about 2 weeks ago. It has been nothing short of BEAUTIFUL and warm ever since. Temperatures are hitting 75+ mid afternoon and warming up that water temperature. Now is a great time to fish LOP. There is fishing for everyone. There are a few beds I have seen if you like sight fishing and shallow water. Largemouths are for the most part, still in pre-spawn pattern. I’m still catching them on lipless crankbaits in the sloughs and ditches. My favorite fishing is picking up and will be getting better as the water warms up. I love to fish a carolina rig and big crankbait that bite is always there. I would love to show you the latest on side imaging and teach you what I know about LOP. I’m booking up for spring quickly with many out of state folks. I love showing new faces how great East Texas spring fishing can be. Book your trip today for a chance to catch that Share-a-Lunker or that fish of a lifetime.
Thank You,

Pines Report 1-29-11

Well the fishing on Lake O’ the Pines has been hit or miss the last few weeks. We have been catching some nice fish up to 6 lbs. The key is to find the ditches and drains that have grass lining the sides. The fish use the ditches and drains as bass highways and when you find the right one you can load the boat. Throwing rattle traps and chatter baits and ripping them out of the grass is the key. I still have some good days left so shoot me an e-mail or give me a call. I give on the water instruction from fishing to reading electronic , Tournament prep. Deep water structure.

Thank You,
Jesse

Summer fishing is ON FIRE **6/8

Had the honor of taking out a new client, Richard Arden from Harleton. Great guy, great day fishing.
We caught no less that 75-80 bass in a full day trip. It became comical every cast. But we had a blast catching them all day long. Morning time bite was on a frog, yellow magic, pop-r, or zara spooks. Once the heat got up there, we went deep. The bass started to school and you could catch them easy with a fluke or crankbait.
It seems that the hotter the weather gets, the better my fish bite. Finding deep fish is definately my forte.
I'd love to take you out and show ya what I know. Still have a few good days left in June.
Remember..... a 125.00 deposit is required to hold the date for you. Thanks again for all my clients. They have been wonderful people. Todays client was Don Hurta and his wife from Marshall, Texas. Super nice people. Had a great half day trip with that family. Hope to see them again soon on the water.

LOP fishing report****May 30, 2010

The fishing is GOOOOOOD right now on Pines. This past weekends Lions Club tourney should be proof of that. the first place sack was 34 lbs. There were 6 or 7 sacks over 20. WOW.
Right now, Im fishing a Santone jig on deep water humps and river bends. DD22 crankbait is doing well already this season. Always one of my favorite 'go to' baits. Top water bite real early in the morning on zara spooksk, pop-r, yellow magic, etc.
While this fishing is so good this time of year, please dont forget to take care of yourself. Drink plenty of fluids and hydrate and SUNSCREEN. Its not only good for you to wear it, but it keeps the wife from yelling at you when you walk in the door. (ok, well it does for me anyway..lol)
check out my latest sponsors.... st croix rods. They have been building rods for over 60 years and I promise you. They are the best out there.
Also on board with me is Santone Jigs. I have been a santone lover since I was a kid, and they have only gotten better over the years. If you ever see a black and blue with chartruse jig on my rod.... i gaurantee you, it is a santone jig. They are THE jig to throw in this deep water.

June is filling up fast on my schedule with parents and granparents wanting to take their teen or preteen out. I think this is an excellent opportunity to introduce them to the great sport of angling. I love to teach youngsters all about the boat, and electronics, and how and why we fish what we do. But, there are about three days left in June, July will open up soon. I want to thank all of my clients so far this year, it has been a blast. I hope you have been able to away a little information that what you had. I want my clients 100 percent satisfied and would love repeat business.
Please pass along the word for me, my advertising budget is shot! So good ol word of mouth will help me out.

Fishing Report 4-18-10
The fishing on Lake O ‘the Pines has been pretty good lately. My clients and I have been catching nice fish on all types on baits.
The spawn is almost over and the fish are moving into post spawn pattern. The top water bite has started to turn on with a lot of fish being caught on a yellow magic and a pop-r. They have been moving onto the major flats to begin feeding after the spawn.
We have had great trips catching fish on a fluke and also throwing the new Big Bite Baits trick stick and cane stick rigged wacky style.
The river bite is still slow, but it should start picking up in the next few weeks. The lake is down a little so use caution running the lake because there are big stumps just below the surface.
The north end of the lake is still muddy and is not going clear up any time soon with the recent rain. The lower end of the lake is in good shape. Some of the backs of the creeks are a little stained.
The KYKX big bass bonanza is quickly approaching, and I still have some good days left open for April. Give me a call to book your trip today. I specialize in tournament techniques, learning the lake, maximizing your electronics and learning how to read them better. Deep water fishing techniques are my favorite and of course I can just show you a fun day on the lake.

Fishing Report 3-13-10

All I can say is WOW! The last few days have been amazing with some big fish being caught. The rattle trap bite is still real good with the senko bite coming on strong. The lake is still muddy on the north end and up in the creeks down to about mid-lake. The best fish we have been catching have been on the Rattle trap and sometimes slowing down and catching some good ones with the senko in the drains. The warming trend has really made the fish turn on and have the big girls moving to the shallows. We have caught a few on a spinnerbait and chatterbait but that is still a little slow.

If you are needing help with the Lake or needing information on upcoming tournaments feel free to give me a call and book a trip.
Remember the KYKX big Bass Bonanza is coming up and I can provide you with some good information on how the lake will be fishing and some good spots.

I still have some good days left so book your trip today.

Pines Report 3/06/10

What a day on Lake O' the Pines today! I fished with 2 super nice clients today and we had a blast. I had 1 gentleman who caught his first fish today and ended up with another one over 6lbs. His buddy had 1 that would go over 7. I caught a bass over 8. We caught a few more, but those were the biggest ones. The fishing is getting better every day with this warm weather trend. Springtime fishing is getting good! We had our best bites on a rattle trap. It looks like the big females are starting to move shallow.

Pines Report 3/3/10

The fishing on Lake O' the Pines has really taken off. We have been catching some big fish this week with the biggest one being just over 9lbs and have caught an 8 and several over 6. With the warming trend the fish are really starting to turn on. The best bait that has been producing the bigger fish is still the rattle trap. We have been fishing the drains with a little deeper water around. Me and my clients have been having a blast catching the big ones with 2 clients catching there biggest fish ever fishing pines this week. I look for the fishing to only get better with many patterns starting to work. We have been catching a few good fish flipping a jig and a few on a senko.

I am booking up fast for March so book your trip today.

Pines Report 2/24/10

Lake O the Pines has been tuff this week, we have been catching a few on red rattle traps but you have to chunk and wind forever before you get a bite, but when you do, its going to be a good one. Also when you do catch one then you need to slow things down and fish that area hard, because there will be more in that same area. We have also been catching some on carolina rigs on main lake points and secondary points. Always remember when fishing in this cold of water, the bass will always be closer to deeper water. If we can get a few days of warmer weather the bite will really pick up.

Hopefully we can get the weather to stabilize for a few days or weeks and I think the bass fishing will really turn on.

Good Luck,

Till next time
